First dates

there are times I wished people read my journal - very infrequent, as I write these mainly for myself, and if someone reads it, well, whatever, but today I want to run a survey.

For me, a good first date has to be one that encourages interaction. Now, ideally, one that has an escape for if the conversation falters would be nice (i.e. dinner and a movie works because you can converse during dinner, and if the conversation flops, the movie can fill a void). Amusement parts are also good, as there are plenty of conversation opportunities, but lots of distractions as well. Batting cages and driving ranges can work depending on the date. Anyone out there have any good, creative ideas? Please leave comments below that answer the question: What are good first dates?
