The secretary at work in the workspace next to me aid "You need to talk more. You talk to other people but not to me." Now, that is a very accurate observation, and one I mentioned to a friend of mine before. I don't talk to her because she's older, and doesn't talk about anything interesting. Her attempts at conversation are things like "Wow it's cold up here" and "I wonder how the hurricane is doing?" The fact that she lacks intiative, and asks me really bad computer questions (as in really basic), doesn't help her case. If she was informed about stuff she wanted to talk about, then it might be a different story, but it seems she just wants the superficial conversation to fill time. She mentions things she read in the newspaper, but when I ask her for details or thoughts or opinions, I get nothing.
