Wow, I'm on disk 2 of Firefly, and now I get why it's such a cult hit. A Western, set in a sci-fi environment. Unlike Star Trek, it doesn't pretend to be sci-fi and doesn't contain lots of pseudo-science - instead, it's primarily plot driven, and space just happens to be a convenient setting.

The best part of the series has to be the characters. They're all well developed, and have unique personalities, compelling back stories, and inter-personal relationships. My favorites would tend to be Jayne, the tough guy who seems out for himself, and Kaylee, the sweet, innocent mechanic. Both of them are great characters, with their quirks, and amusing behaviors.

Definitly check out the series if you can . . .
