Marathon de Mayo

So, I'm "running" the Marathon de Mayo this weekend. I put "running" in quotes since my training has been lackluster at best. I've been using the guide off of Runner's World Smart Coach. Unfortunately, this last month or so I've been assaulted by allergies and shin splits. The allergies have kept me from making a few of my runs, and the shin splits have kept me on the elliptical. I've been training using my heart rate, and trying to do equivalent times (as opposed to the distance off the elliptical). Who knows how I'll do this weekend . . . at this point, I'll be happy if I can finish the 13 miles under 3 hours . . . bleh.

This is the first chipped race I'll have done (I've only done 5k's in the past), and it's interesting to me that people can track my progress online . . . kind of cool how the running tech has evolved.
