It's a small world

Loyal readers know that I'm a big fan of They had their humble beginnings as a radio station in southwest Ohio (hence the WOXY call sign). I like the fact that they have real DJs, even though one of my favorites, Barb Abney, ended up leaving WOXY when they thought they were going to close. (She now hosts the Current on Minnesota Public Radio.)

Now they're online only, and Friday's are "Request the X" where they spend all day playing requests. And I just heard a request played for "Melissa in Reno, Nevada." I think that's the first time I've heard a request from a place I live in. Definitely never heard one from Helena, Montana or Springfield, Missouri . . .
