I'm confused

So, at work I've been working on learning scriptaculous and some other javascript technologies. I rewrote our Hot News to use some of the scriptaculous effects. I didn't go through and style it though, so really, it's just a working demo. I'm not going to take it live, since the javascript libraries are an extra 100k or so in downloads, plus the page size goes up as each story is now part of the page.

The other one I've been messing with is Google and Yahoo maps, which both have APIs (Yahoo, Google) that you can interface with. I had originally started with Google's, but then started exploring Yahoo as Google doesn't geocode (convert addresses to longitude and latitude). Anyway, I've got one version of the Google map I built live, and it seems to work okay (though I can't include the GOverviewMapControl as it goes to the lower right of the page, rather than the map). I was messing with trying to add member's pictures to the website, and for some reason this doesn't work. When you click on a marker, it's hit or miss as to whether the window fits the content. This usually fixes itself if you reclick, but I'm not sure why it doesn't get it right the first time? The other bug is that for some reason, when I upgraded from version 1 to version 2 of the API, the onClick handler won't close when you click on a marker now . . . weird.
