Impressions of Seattle

So, while my last post was the play-by-play, my overall impression of Seattle was positive. Granted, we were out between Fremont and Wallingford, which was a decent ways from downtown, but I still really enjoyed in. Both areas had personality, with lots of cute restaurants, coffee shops, and people walking around.

I'd only been to Seattle once before, and that was for a conference, where I didn't really get to explore the city. I think I walked maybe 8 blocks the last time I was there, though I had been impressed with how clean the city seemed then (which arguably doesn't take much when you're comparing to Clifton).

While I'm not sure I'd like to live in downtown Seattle, I could definitely dig living on the outskirts.

These seem neat . . .

So, if I presented a lot, or was a grad student who wanted white boards everywhere, these seem like a great product. From the sounds of it, they're basically like those static-window clings you can buy, but instead designed to be used like a whiteboard. Reusable, self-adhesive, no adhesive residue, reasonably cheap, fits on an easel . . . sounds almost perfect!

New theme

Wow, I hadn't looked at the LiveJournal themes in a while, but the flexibility of the system is pretty impressive . . . we'll see how long I stick with this look . . .
