Civil Liberties

Argh so 60 Minutes just had this thing about how some Americans are now saying that America is using the war on terroism to attack/erode civil liberties. Are people dumb? Of course civil liberties are going to suffer for the war on terrorism. People believe that giving the authorities rights to search, database, etc etc is going to cost us privacy. So the question people have to ask is what do you value more? I'm going to say civil liberties because no matter what we do, if anyone wants to commit terrorism, they will find a way. Fantacism is impossible to combat. So yes, you provide some barriers to prevent the casual criminal, but someone who is willing to die for their cause is a different story.
