Party in the Pit

So, I just got back from the Party in the Pit, a summer concert here. I was rather disappointed by the whole thing. This is like the one outdoor concert here in Springfield, and it's marketted at teens. Now that's okay, but apparently, it's not marketted very well. There were maybe 200 people there. I mean, seriously, the bands would have done better playing in a high school auditorium. It's not like the ticket price ($5 for some Missouri bands, and then Sarai). And it's not like the talent is horrible for that price. happyendings is going out to make a demo with Hollywood Records, and Sarai is signed with Sony, and has got some airtime on MTV.

I do wonder though whether it's horrible marketting, or if it's just that Springfield doesn't have music fans?
