I Heart Huckabees

So, I Heart Huckabees finally made it to Helena.

I've got mixed feelings after seeing it - as it seems the critics do as well. I purposely didn't read any reviews ahead of time (standard practice as I like to digest a bit on my own, before adding others' thoughts to the mix.) The movie look at existentialism, along with some other philosophical ramblings thrown in for good measure. It's also got a lot of humor, in a weird dry/slap-stick kind of way. Some of it worked for me, some of it didn't, but none the less, the film is interesting.

It's the kind of movie I might want to see again, but only with certain people. I'd love to discuss and process some of the ideas a bit with Marquez, or Timmy. In my mind it's one of those stay up till 3 in the morning rambling about philosophy type movies.

The Myrna Loy has quite a few movies I want to see coming through . . . currently, they've got The Motorcycle Diaries, and they've got What the Bleep coming next week (which is another one of those movies that's probably a 3am movie). I also want to see the Incredibles . . . I think I might go watch Motorcycle Diaries tomorrow, maybe catch the 2:00 and then hike Helena . . .
