Matrix: Revolutions

So I went and saw the newest Matrix movie today. I had read all these bad reviews. I really didn't think it was that bad. Was it mind blowingly awesome? No. But it was entertaining. There were some cool action scenes (the battle at Zion stands out), there were some good heroics by supporting characters - this could be loosely interpreted to mean that people need to work together again overwhelming odds - and there was the standard mindtrip stuff of the Matrix.

Do I like how it was all resolved? I think it's a decent ending. Yes there are some questions left open, but that's okay. The movie seems to lead it self well to discussions, especially for those who want to parallel it to the Christ story which is the obvious one. It starts off as man vs. machine, but then Smith is thrown into the mix. The theory that Smith is meant to be the Devil figure while Neo is Christ doesnt' work for me, since that exludes the Merovingian and the Architect. (The Architect as God is too simple of a conclusion as well.) I need to go read up on the Merovingian Mythos. Probably need to read up a bit on Logos (the name of Niobe's ship) and on Niobe too . . .
